The commenting period for the 2027 Annual Transit Plan ended on May 31, 2026.Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback on the proposed service changes.

The final 2027 Annual Transit Plan document will be available early next year.

2026-2030 Business Plan

The YRT 2026–2030 Business Plan outlines how we will expand and enhance transit service to support York Region’s growing communities and changing customer and travel needs over the next five years. View the Business Plan page to learn more. 


2026 Annual Transit Plan

The 2026 Annual Transit Plan identifies 33 route and service changes. 

The implementation of any transit initiative is dependent on ridership levels, shifting travel patterns and available budget. The 2026 Annual Transit Plan manages shifting ridership distribution by improving frequency along key corridors, introducing new services and expanding service coverage. 

This document was developed with input collected through extensive partner consultation, customer feedback, route analysis and service reviews.

Annual Transit Plan Process

As part of the Annual Transit Plan process, YRT shares the proposed changes for the following year with the public and asks for input on the changes. The feedback is compiled and used to help inform future decisions.  

Annual Transit Plan Cycle

January to March

  • Conduct system review
  • Develop draft service changes

April to June

  • Public and community partners consultation
  • Incorporate planned service changes into draft operating and capital budget

July to September

  • Refine proposed service changes
  • Draft Annual Transit Plan document
