Annual Transit Initiatives
Transit Initiatives identify specific service changes to improve public transit in York Region.
Initiatives are developed with input collected through partner consultation, customer feedback, route analysis and service reviews. The goal of the initiatives is to build an innovative, reliable and customer-focused transit system for York Region. Your input plays an important role in the service planning process. Feedback on our 2026 Transit Initiatives will begin in the Spring of 2025.
2025 Transit Initiatives
The 2025 Transit Initiatives identify 35 route and service changes. Some identified changes have already been made due to ridership increases and the need for additional service before 2025.
The implementation of any transit initiative is dependent on ridership levels and shifting travel patterns. The 2025 Transit Initiatives manages shifting ridership distribution by improving frequency along key corridors, introducing new services and expanding service coverage through On-Request services.
