YRT Service Planning includes the design, planning and monitoring of new routes and existing services.
Extensive research, analysis and field investigations are conducted in order to build an innovative, reliable and customer-focused transit system for York Region.

2024 Transit Initiatives
The 2024 Transit Initiatives identify 22 route and service changes. Some identified changes have already been made due to ridership increases and the need for additional service before 2024.
The implementation of any transit initiative is dependent on ridership levels and shifting travel patterns. The 2024 Transit Initiatives manages shifting ridership distribution by improving frequency along key corridors, introducing new services and expanding service coverage through Mobility On-Request services.
This document was developed with input collected through extensive stakeholder consultation, customer feedback, route analysis and service reviews.
